
Russell W. Colliau
Russ Colliau is a dynamic force in the Sacramento Real Estate community. Former host of "On Real Estate" on Talk650/KSTE, a certified Real Estate Inspector and general contractor. His expertise in building, renovations and restorations is nearly unparalleled. As a general contractor and CEO of Pachyderm Construction and H4R Inc., he has constructed 30 new homes from the foundation up in the past two years, earning a reputation for attention to detail and strong customer service. As a certified Real Estate Inspector, Mr. Colliau has been involved in thousands of transactions. He is the CEO of United Professional Real Estate Inspectors, Inc., one of Sacramento’s busiest and most respected home inspection companies. Armed with the knowledge only a builder would have, Mr. Colliau has developed a reputation in Sacramento’s real estate community as “the most qualified inspector in town. In addition, he is the Past-President of the Sacramento Chapter of the American Institute of Inspectors and Membership Chairman of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Real Estate Inspection Association.
Not quite content with general contracting and home inspection, Mr. Colliau has become an environmental consultant in the area of toxic mold. He is Indoor Air Quality Association trained and certified in toxic mold detection and remediation. He is a frequent speaker in the Sacramento real estate community on the subject of mold detection and remediation, often training real estate agents and brokers of the telltale warning signs, and educating them on available remediation techniques and liability protection. Mr. Colliau is also active in training remediation personnel in proper cleanup and safety techniques.
Mr. Colliau’s diverse background enhances and supplements his skills. A graduate of the University of California at Davis, Mr. Colliau comes to the real estate community after a successful career in politics, which included numerous major political campaign assignments in California and out, extensive work in public policy research and development, and in public relations. Notably, Mr. Colliau has significant experience in California Environmental Quality Act matters, having been an analyst in California Governor Pete Wilson’s Office of Planning and Research. In this regard he had responsibility for evaluating numerous development projects in the State, and was involved in the administrations efforts to streamline the permitting process. He is also a published author and licensed pilot.
